In an effort to promote civil engagement and prevent further polarization in our community and in our country, a new book discussion group, Bridging the Divide, will use current books to guide discussions. The books will be about the issues that divided the country in the most recent election and continue to divide us in the months following the election.
Instead of talking about the President, the administration, or taking the view of either political party, the focus of the discussions will be to better understand the concerns of so many Americans on both side of the divide. This will open communication and enable us to respond sympathetically so that both sides feel heard and ultimately lead to real solutions.
Please join book group coordinator Meredith Censullo on Tuesday, April 25th at 6:30 pm for the first meeting of this new book group. Come with ideas for book titles that you think would be relevant to this theme.
In order to facilitate meaningful discussion, this group will be limited to 12 people. Registration is required, so register early if you’re interested in participating. You may register by calling the Library at 508-362-6636 or emailing Lucy Loomis at email@example.com.
