Queer Visual Representations & the Male Gaze: an Art History Talk with Bruce Childs

June 25 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Sturgis Library Presents:

Queer Visual Representations and the Male Gaze with Bruce Childs

Tuesday June 25th, 2019 @ 6:30PM

Popular culture has in recent decades represented  gay and lesbian lifestyle on television, in movies, and in print media. “Queer visual representations” will survey the phenomenon of the male gaze in art of the western world.  Paintings, graphics, photography precede modern narratives and interpretations of queer American      culture, often neglected and misunderstood by those looking in from outside the Queer Perspective. This art history lecture is presented in conjunction with              Mr. Childs display in our gallery space.

Free to the public. Registration is appreciated! Email, call 508-362-6636, or fill out the form bellow.
