Apply for a Library Card
To register for a Sturgis Library CLAMS card, print this form, fill it out, and bring it to the library with a piece of valid identification showing your current address. To register by mail, fax, or email, follow the instructions on the form.
Research and Reference Services
Reference Services: Library staff can provide basic reference assistance to students and general researchers of all ages.
Special Collections Research Services: The library provides two kinds of research services for those requiring specialized research assistance. For quick research questions (under 30 minutes), we charge only for photocopies and/or postage if mailing the photocopies. For longer look-ups (over 30 minutes) or for the services of our volunteer genealogist, we request that in addition to photocopies and postage, the researcher make a donation of their own choosing to the library to help support the Sturgis Library Special Collections. As you may know, we receive half our funding from private sources and rely on donations to help preserve our fragile collections. Internet Access and Computing & Resources
Four computer workstations with printers are available for public use, as well as two laptop computers. Each computer has free Internet access, as well as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Patrons can register for 1/2 hour sessions -- longer if no one else is waiting. Computer use is free. We also offer free wireless internet access for those wishing to bring in their own laptop computers. Printouts at public workstations are 20 cents each.
