From Poe to the Present: Talking Scary Stories with Nathan Ballingrud, Gwendolyn Kiste, Cynthia Pelayo, Gabino Iglesias, and Eric LaRocca

Join us as we discuss the evolution of the scary story with five celebrated horror authors! We’ll talk about the origins stretching back to Edgar Allen Poe, what defines a scary story, and how they have morphed into what we know today in contemporary fiction. A digital book sale and Q and A will follow the event.

This event has a hybrid attendance set up. This talk can be viewed over ZOOM or in person at the library. Either way, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Email sturgisreference@comcast.net to sign up. Please specify whether you’d like to attend in person or over ZOOM. Space is limited. All of the speakers will be coming to you digitally through ZOOM and be projected on our Lowell Room screen.
