Philosophy Series- Metaphysics/Ontology: The Power of Perception and the Problem of the ‘Real’ World

June 14, 2022 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Join Adjunct Professor, Keli A. Gates, for part two of Sturgis Library’s three part lecture/discussion series!

An intriguing question is posed about the essence of reality; this lecture is thought provoking and the discussion usually proves interesting. We explore a chronological “letting go” of reality as science brings us to the brink of Solipsism. Come explore the problem of the ‘Real’ World as presented in the book Out of the Cave by Dan McCullough. This lecture includes a power point, a look at a number of philosophical viewpoints including Realism, Phenomenalism and Solipsism, and sprinkles of discussion throughout.

Registration is required. Email Christy at cmunier@clamsnet.org to register.
